And Cranky, you know what, you rate Herzog's ballots and comments down for no reason half the time. HOW DARE YOU rate this ballot down as racist! Just who do you think you are? You're the raicst! Man, to think I used to respect you. No more. I don't agree with Herzog all the time, but now you're just going too far. I could not care less how you react or respond to this either. I just have no respect for you in any way any more.

No, I just happen to appreciate Herzog. I don't share his views on many things, but at least he is not petty and vindictive. As for Grumpy, yeah, I like the guy. So what if he and I are not of like minds on all things! Are all of your friends just like you? If they are, must be very boring! You don't have to agree with people or even like everything they say or write to like them you know...some of us can see past those issues and find other elements that make us like them. DingleDung is a great example. He makes me crazed sometimes with what he writes but so what!? I still like him because I see other things in him, such as compassion, that make me ultimately like him and in fact, some of his comments that have pissed me off have also made me think and question...how can that be wrong?
Following one guy around all over the place is just spooky and that is what you do.
what is wrong with this ballot? I saw it covered on liberal and conservative blogs and news sites as well as by the mainstream media.
How is this anti-islam? The articles I read from all sources said this design was controversial.

Cranky, this ballot and the other you rated down are legitimate newsworthy ballots. There is no valid justification for rating these down that I can see.
The issue isn't THIS ballot. The issue is grumpyzog's overarching bigotry. Go look at his ballot list since mid-July. What has he done since then, 25, 30, 35 ballots referring to Islam, all skewed to generate hostility towards Muslims?
Seeing some of the responses in defense of grumpyzog is a sad commentary on how extremist bigotry can go mainstream. All you have to do is euphemize everything and then it slips right under the radar of reasonable people. It's like the way creationism has morphed into Intelligent Design. Just spin everything the right way, dress it up as reasonable and sneak it in. The whole Bush approach has been that way: dress Bush up as a "compassionate conservative" and make him look mainstream, when he's really a rightwing extremist. It's very effective. And young reptiles like grumpyzog have certainly learned their lessons well.
I'm starting to see now that when the facists take over, it will be the moderates and the liberals who will guarantee their success.

And you constant and relentless attacks on Herzog and your constant negative Karma against him is abuse of your title of All Powerful Guardian. I rated you down 3 times today to show you what it feels like. Did you deserve it? Ultimately, yes. If Herzog is constantly rating you down than he is wrong too. You know what, I just expected more from you. I guess I still do. Maybe I'm being a big baby, but since you are one of the users I most looked up to, I guess its like seeing a person you admire committing a crime. Not sure how else to explain it.
I disagree cranky. There are few if any of his ballots that are over the line. He may be going down the same path a lot but he is hardly alone in that. Robingaylord consistently has christian bashing ballots, but people just ignore most of them.
Okay. I've had a private message exchange with Patch and I think we've got it worked out. Like I told Patch: I don't think I'm wrong. But since it seems to be upsetting everyone so much, I will allow grumpyzog to continue spreading his sanitized message of hate and bigotry unchallenged.
I do, however, expect, that if I stay off his ballots, that he stay off mine.
If he continues to pollute my ballots with his idiocy, I WILL begin flaming him again.
