COMMENTS:
A person with no sense of humor. I've got friends who seldom if ever read books. I read a lot, but with people who don't we just talk about other things. Someone with no sense of humor though is just hard to spend any time with without things getting very uncomfortable.

DEFF the no sense of humour...

An illiterate person with no sense of humor.
by xxxxxxxx on Fri Oct 07, 05 4:59pm [+]

People who don't read books may have vaying reasons for it, from lack of time to lack of interest. People who lack a sense of humor are ill-equipped to handle modern life, and they might take a small bit of humor the wrong way, resulting in some Columbine-type scenario.

A person could be dumber than owl shit in my book and never learn to read, but without a sense of humor they are doomed to live a pathetic life.

Wow mojo, you surprise me!
I have the best sense of humor and I can't stand reading. Some of us would rather be writing or drawing.. but why should that make anyone uncomfortable?!!
by SFLibra on Fri Oct 07, 05 5:38pm [+]

The only books I read are "junk books", such as books about weird places and stuff like that (I seldom read even those), but I have a great sense of humor. A lot of people I know are the same way.
by nuckinfutz on Fri Oct 07, 05 10:52pm [+]

One who never read books.

Humour is a subjective thing and many who believe they have one ... don't, really.
by Cathexis on Wed Dec 31, 69 4:00pm [+]

Neither makes me uncomfortable. If anything i would probably make them uncomfortable.

A person with limited reading will be bereft in certain areas thereby limiting the potential for humour. a person with no sense of humour colud read forever and learn nothing.

But the spirit, irrespective of how effective, of humour is far less annoying than someone who is intelligent but just doesnt "get it"

So it has to be humour.

This all boils down to your own personal preference between function and form. clearly a romantically minded person will prefer humour wheras a classically minded person will prefer learning.

What this basically boils down to is one point.

Cathexis is a boring git.

uurrrrrr - everyone has a sense of humo'U'r dont they?

Just different senses of humour. I have never met a person that doesn't laugh at something or find something funny.
by Tommo on Sat Dec 10, 05 3:25am [+]

^maybe they just do it to your face tommo. They don't really find anything you say funny. I should know.
by wolf_nipple_chips on Sat Dec 10, 05 7:06am [+]

WNC - That made no sense at all.

are you saying you've met people who dont find anything funny?

by Tommo on Sat Dec 10, 05 8:09am [+]

I find things funny so I have a sense of humour.... it's just completely different to yours.

Just because I find you a bore doesn't mean I dont appreciate that you do have some sort of Humour.
by Tommo on Sat Dec 10, 05 8:35am [+]

It did make sense.

People may laugh with/at you just for show, they may not actually have any sense of humour whatsoever, or, you may be the one without the sense of humour, and they laugh with you to avoid a uncomfortable situation.
by wolf_nipple_chips on Sun Dec 11, 05 3:12am [+]

No it still makes no sense in the context of what I'm talking about

Even if no one laughs at what I find funny... I still have a sense of humour because I find something funny.

Whats your problem nipple... I aint done you no bad
by Tommo on Sun Dec 11, 05 6:45am [+]

Your wrong!

And you take it up the wrongen!

You said that everyone has a sense of humour and that you have never met someone that didn't find something funny. I'm saying that's not probably the case. What you think is a sense of humour might simply be a clever ploy to be-friend you and bleed you dry. Likewise, what you think is YOUR sense of humour is more than likely a mental condition. I suspect parkinsons.

If you do actually have a sense of humour, which I'm doubtful of, It's probably very similar to that of an aid's ridden dog.
by wolf_nipple_chips on Mon Dec 12, 05 3:11am [+]

It still makes no sense....

My comments weren't about how funny I am.

Why would an 'aids' ridden dog be particularly un-funny.... what would make it less funny than a normal dog. Would a person with aids have a lesser sense of humour than someone without it?

But anyway.... my point is clear

by Tommo on Mon Dec 12, 05 5:53am [+]

'Sense of humour is a mental condition'

Well done - Agreed. A mental condition we all have..... apart from you it seems.
by Tommo on Mon Dec 12, 05 6:16am [+]

It's not whether an aids ridden dog is funny to you or me, it's whether the dog itself has a sense of humour. I doubt very much that he has one. The combination of being a dog and having aids probably hinders his/her laughing ability.

"My comments weren't about how funny I am."

That wasn't my main point, I got sidetracked by the fact that you are a special needs patient.

It was about whether everybody has a sense of humour, or not. (in response to your first comment).

Do you take it up the wrongen?

I bet Geoff Capes doesn't have a sense of humour. Case closed!

The Elephant man was more popular with victorians, not because he had a grossly deformed, elephants arse of a face, but because he never had a sense of humour. Fact!
