In his weekly radio address, on 02/18/2006, Bush said: “Nuclear power generates large amounts of low-cost electricity without emitting air pollution or greenhouse gases.”

Since Bush has frequently expressed that he doesn't believe in global warming, and since his administration has gone to great lengths to suppress evidence and to muzzle government employees who present a contradictory impression, why would he suddenly express a concern about the emission of greenhouse gases?

It's a cynical ploy to justify more gov't welfare for the nuclear industry
Bush has become a Green
He went 'off script'
Political pandering
Perhaps he thinks pollution should be reduced regardless of global warming
He can solve his problem with a Beano
Politically expedient.
