Everyone says you go to Bali or Manilla and darkness decends in the blink of an eye, yet in a London summer, say, it can take almost an hour to get dark. Someone tried to explain it as the sun passing directly over during the day at lower lattitudes (near equator), but it doesn't pass directly over you say in Southern Chile. Beats me how that contributes to a longer twilight. Just one of those things i think too much about.
