advice : tv movies : IS THE UNABRIDGED UNEDITED VERSION OF LORD OF THE RINGS BETTER THAN THE SHORTENED THEATER VERSION? [+] ballot by jappy ACTIVE Tue Mar 14, 06 - Sun Dec 07, 08 I recently purchased the Lord of the Rings trilogy here in Iraq, and each movie is probably another hour to hour and a half longer than the theater version I saw back in the states. There are full lengthy scenes, 2 and 3 minute clips, and even minor 5 to 10 second spots you will find in these that you did not see in the theater. What you get is a much better explanation for what is going on in the movies, but the length of the each movie would likely be tiresome save for the die hard LOTR and fantasy adventure fans. Do you think the longer version is better than the shorter version? Yes, the longer version is better with better explanations. No, the shorter version is more tolerable than the long running one.
