The British Empire was the greatest in the world. The Roman empire has done very little to change the world, all of their "acheivements" were taken from other cultures but they were the first true empire.

Well I'd say that the British Empire was mor imprtessive than Rome's in the ideas and innovations it brought, And it was alot bigger. However, given that Romes empire lasted in the West for 600 years and in the east till the mid 1400's, and Britains lasted what, bout 300 years?

this is a hard question as they were from differenct time periods. However the modern culture of the western world is directly related to Rome, in everything from out government, economy, and military.
^well actually the Western world is more directly related to British influence. We did more for the world, conquered more countries, defeated other world superpowers unlike the Romans, generally influenced the world far more.
