70's and early 80's. Did you know that ABBA spelt backwards is ABBA?
I agree with Guest_90555.
Depends on which 00's. 1900's or 2000's?!
70 was good rock, but '00 do have RHCP, electric six (no I'm not gay) but 70 have yess. Case closed
60s and early 70s were the best...and there are some good music thereafter, however, not the same quality...
Four words The Beatles and Oasis
I say all are equally diverse, interesting and good, but I'd have to say now is the best. We have the most diversety, and the most message and expression if you ask me, plus, like most things, we only keep moving forward (although sometimes it dosn't seem so, its for the overall betterment of the subject).
is that the 1900's?, or the 2000's?
I already said - the 2000's!
1966-1981! After 81 everything went somewhat downhill. By the way, Rap music is a cancer!
Rap music is still a CANCER!
Actually Led Zeppelin and
Black Sabbath started out in the 1960s, but they had a great chunk of their success in the 1970. I prefer the 1980s and 1960s
era myself. The 1970s was also responsible for music like Captain and Tenille, David Cassidy and Bay City Rollers, not to mention disco. Ok, Donna
Summer wasn't that bad.
The 80s also had new wave music and creative music video. The 90s is when the music started to regress. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and the whole Seattle grunge movement got me depressed, even if they did make good music.
I like some 50s music like Chuck Berry. I don't know enough about the 20s, 30s or 40s to comment in depth, except that the big band era was big back then
I think, as well as swing music. It's all music in the end. Rap Music is no
worse than Heavy Metal in terms of offensive content. Besides all rock and country music owes their roots to blues music.

all I can say is HANSON are you all out of your minds, they would "mmmm bop" all music to the ground, TRUE!
I'd say 60's or 70's. Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley... That's real music, not the shit that is called 'music' happening in the 00's
I'd have to say the 1890's.
It is too early to tell for the 00s but everyone thought the decade they lived in was the worst. The 70s were very cool because of Zeppelin, Sabbath, punk, Ramones, Pistols but disco was everywhere and the radio sucked. In the 90s everyone thought the music sucked and wanted to be in the 60s or 70s. In the 70s everyone thought that decade sucked and hoped the 80s would be better. Basically music is a reflexion of the times. 70s- drugs, sexual permissiveness made for great music. 60s- war and protest led to hippie music and folk. 80s- materialism and economic boom made for image driven music. The 90s was PC and socially conscious music as well as a revival of old styles (punk, 60s garage, surf and ska). So far the 00s have been greed and sex, a very consumer driven market which brings out lots of teen heart throbs and hip hoppers flashing jewelry.
Dude, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen, Guns n' roses and VAN HALEN!!!! Along with the Stones, All bands from the day. Id have to say 60s-gnr.
Yeah the origins of the current music are the 70's
It's all good?
the 30's - the birth of the Harlem music scene from which all the great pop and rock has since grown
80's Motha F***er!
because tupac made most shit then tupac rullz niggas
What about the 10's? Ravel was arguably at his best back then!
60's - 70's.
What's in the 30's?????
i really can't say as many bands i love come from different periods. for example:
beatles, jimi hendrix, led zep, black sabbath, the cure, bauhaus and peter murphy, my bloody valentine, the pumpkins and lots and lots and lots of bands. there is always crap around and a bunch of great bands. i enjoyed the 90s best because that was the decade of my teens but i'm amazed at some new stuff like tv on the radio and the white stripes. sorry. i can't vote but with my guts and i'm chosing 90s for what i just said.

I love the 80s period the most - lots of great pop balads. I want to go back in time!
Beatles, Stones, Doors... only the 60s.
Voted : 70's
Love that Classic rock!
Voted : 20's
the music was so fun... it really made you want to get up and dance. it was just great music
Voted : 60's
When you get into the 70's music, the first 5 years was music from Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. The later half of the 70s is disco. (yuck)
Voted : 70's
Long live the rock-n-roll of the 70's!
Don't forget about KISS, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zepplin, Early AC-DC, Bad Company, .38 there was so much good rock in the 70's.
Voted : 80's
I'd have to say the 70's and 80's
Voted : 90's
still had some good rock and metal plus the addition of grunge
Voted : 70's
best of all time in all genres.
Voted : 60's
The 60s were definitely the best because artists like the Beatles set the standard for excellence in sound recording; a lot of different musical movements paved the way for future movements, such as punk, disco, art rock, alternative rock, metal; elements of the counterculture movement are still prominent today; and the decade produced a number of musical legends, including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, the Jackson 5, Phil Spector girl groups, a variety of motown groups - the list goes on.
Voted : 80's
And it'll never be the best ever again...
Voted : 20's
The invention or perfection of jazz, Broadway musicals, popular dance music, blues, even country music occurred during the 1920s. You had music with class, sophistication, and intelligent lyrics, plus performers like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Bix Beiderbecke, the Dorsey Brothers, Jack Teagarden, and Bessie Smith all coming into prominence. Plus, you had songwriters and composers like George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Harry Warren.

It amazes me anyone could prefer rubbish from the 1960s onward.
