[+] serious ballot by jappy ACTIVE Wed Apr 12, 06 - Mon Jan 05, 09 Last year, California allowed solo occupants of hybrid cars to use carpool lanes in an effort to encourage the environmentally friendly vehicles. But other users of the carpool lanes are beginning to complain that many hybrid owners are moving too slowly in order to maximize their fuel efficiency, and of clogging diamond lanes that were once clear. Is this another instance of political nonsense going to far, in this case giving the owners of these cars access to carpool lanes which are NOT just about being environmentally friendly but about using fewer cars on the roads OVERALL, as in less damage to the roads and less congestion. Just because the car is electric doesn't mean it does not contribute to both of those issues. Especially when you have idiot drivers trying to maximize their cars mpg by slowing down the rest of the traffic. Should they be banned from carpool lanes altogether? YES!!
