It's hard to say. I hope Europe and the US can remain peaceful, but I'd rather have Europe as an enemy than move closer to their type of society.
I've read a lot about this and I think its just a natural settling of beliefs and views. Under Clinton, I read that we had fantastic relations with Europe. Under Bush, I've read and heard that they have deteriorated. I think that its just a phase and I doubt we'll ever not be connected to Europe and vice versa. If you talk to Europeans, they disagree with Bush and his policies and feel he is taking the United States in the wrong direction. A lot of Americans feel this way too. I think the people are cool with each other, but the governments of Europe and the US government are at odds. Once Bush leaves office, I hope things improve.
Nope... it's all on a huge cycle. By the time our kids' generation is in charge, it will have come full swing around again... oh and Cuba will make a lovely vacation spot then too.. ;)
Short-term. Things will improve once we get the current crop of idiots out of government office.
I think the West will stick together. All democracies should diplomatically stick together.
wasn't relations pretty much the same when Reagan was in office, I'm not picking sides politically, but seems Europe likes to see dems in office more than Republicans.
Although I did read they loved Nixon in France

Besides certain users from Europe on this site, I find most Europeans like America and like Americans. They just don't like Bush. That is hardly unusual as neither do most Americans
Don't know for sure. But if you think about it, once upon a time, the overwhelming majority of immigrants came from Europe. That's not true anymore. Our immigrants are comming from Latin America and Asia. These people don't look to Europe and find a common cultural heritage. I see us slowly growing apart. Nothing stays the same.
