I prefer American since there's usually more quality in an American made product than a Chinese made product. If it's made in Germany or England then I'd go with it over American. Other than those 2, I'd usually take American over anything else. There aren't that many UK or German made products in the US though.
I always prefer the made in USA label. but did you know that companies are relocating their labor intensive manufacturing facilities to Guam, Saipan, and other places under US control, then import chinese workers in masse, to create products and be eligible to slap on that "made in USA" label? so these days made in USA is not all that's cracked up to be.

^I didnt know that LCD, but I can believe it.
I only buy things which are sold in America.
Most US made products are of inferior quality to Japanese, German and even Korean made products... see; cars, electrical goods... et al. Why buy crap when it costs no less than the competition? Of course there are rasons, high cost of labour etc... BTW, what of US made examples of Toyota and Nissan (factories in Arkansas I believe)?

If a power tool for instance is labeled as "made in USA", then at least 50% of the parts have to have been actually made in the US. "Product of the US" means something slightly different. Usually that something is designed and marketed by a US company but made and assembled elsewhere.
Ha! Try to find anything that is truly "made in America."
No, I've got all the quilts and boutique items I need.
I go out of my way to purchase American made products. It seems to be more difficult to as of late.
