You should be able to convert any diesel engine to run off of oil. There's already a kit available that you can use to convert your diesel powered car/truck over.

A couple of early drawbacks are that the milage is not quite as high as diesel fuel and if you use used oil (from fast food resturants for instance)you have to filter it first.

Oh, and if you use oil from resturants, you're ehaust fumes will smell like french fries. No joke.

I will never buy any car that runs on food products, because the food products can be used to feed starving people all over the world.

there are better ways.

1. hydrogen
2. steam
3. hydrogen peroxide
4. electric
5. wind powered
6. stirling cycle
7. human powered.

True, but can you convert your existing car over to those in less than a few hours and pay less than a thousand dollars for it?

Those technologies have been around for a while, but they're not being implemented by the common man because of a reason. Cost. Cost for the manufacturers and consumers. They're great ideas, but it's going to take them a while to completely get off the ground. The people who want to solve the fuel/environmental problems want them solved now. Ya gotta start somewhere, and vegetable oil may a good place to start.

Besides, considering that food is thrown away and dumped out everyday in order to regulate cost, fueling your car with corn oil is not going to take away from someone's dinner plate. That's been happening long before we ever had a worry about fuel.
