COMMENTS:
Apathy is to blame.
yep, apathy coupled with a whole truckload of ignorance. Of course the fact that it is a huge country slowly turning into a desert prone to flash flooding, choked with dust storms and disease does not make it a desirable aquisition for a "liberating" Army.
No. It's fedupism. People are tired of all the problems with Africa. That continent has been a mess for the past 100 years. Genocide has been committed there since the beginning of time. So most have just given up trying to civilize those people. Same people, same problems all the time. The hell with them.
Don't know. Anytime there have been accusatiosn of genocide in Africa, the world seems to stand by and "Tsk." But when it was going on in the Balkans, the world intervened. Makes you wonder.
I think the Sudanian government plays the biggest role. Sudan's government showed its real feelings about Western help by bringing charges against the Sudan director of Doctors Without Borders, detaining the charity's Darfur coordinator and arrested or threatened foreign aid workers.
