Wierdly, math. I can figure out things on the fly before others -- simple stuff like percentages, etc. I sucked at math in school, however. Also, I can remember any music that has made an impression on me, note for note. I wish my parents had pushed me to take up some kind of musical instrument when I was younger, this strange 'talent' might have been put to good use. But probably not!

I just have this gift for playing the game. I can't do any other sport for squat, but baseball just comes as naturally as breathing.
"Idiot-savant" requires that first, one must be an idiot, and second, that one be a savant. I am neither. And, none of my abilities are so keen that anyone with mistake me with a genius. I'm with Pat Paulson: "I'm not left wing, or right wing; I'm pretty much the middle of the bird."
I can recognize most movie scores within the first few notes. I can discern and identify different US military jets by their engine sound.
I'm voting music but not because I can play it (well I can sing and dance a little :) but somehow I have a way of identifying song names and singer's voices and remembering the most random singers. My daddy was a DJ, I think that's why, I was listening since I was a baby.

"Writing is that way for me. I never really needed a whole lot of practice -- I mean, it evolved over time and got better -- but it's not like I've ever worked extremely hard at it." Hey you know I love and respect you Counciltucky. But don't be silly - that's not idiot savant. That's called TALENT and it's been around for a long time. We don't all have to be autistic or try to paint ourselves with the latest terms for freaky ability. It's TALENT. Enjoy it.
^But I'm not really good at anything else, lol.
A lot of people who are brilliant at one thing aren't brilliant at much else.
Voted : Yes -- writing.
English and drawing I can draw fantasy faces and feet perfectly like they were living things, but I cannot draw hands at all or animals. I have also tutored Masters and PHD students in English, yet I cannot even diagram a sentence and don't know a participle from an intransitive verb. I can look at a sphere, dissassemble it in one continuous piece in my mind, draw it on paper, cut it out, and reassemble it into a perfect sphere. I have no clue where these abilities come from. Yet I cannot even program my own cell phone!
