Millions live in poverty and the country is run by rich oil men, street gangs and drug lords. Sound familiar?

It may be too late for the U.S.A., but is there hope for Mexico?

Yes, they would be better off without the Fox junta
No, they're doing just fine
Bomb the $h!t out of 'em!

COMMENTS:
Yes of course. Most of the worlds problems are caused by bad government. There's no reason for mexico to not be wealthy, except they've always had a shitty government. The spanish held them as a colony to exploit, then when they won their independence their local government behaved essentially the same way. A few different names, the capital moved from madrid to mexico city, and otherwise no change.

Every country has the government it deserves. I know that from experience.

I think the US should invade*.

It might be interesting to see, when a war is on their doorsteps how blase Americans might be, when the threat is so close.

Iraq is a world away, and can be dismissed by blase Americans, a war with Mexico... that would be very interesting.

*This is me being sarcastic, of course I don't want the US to invade.

They need to get rid of the corrupt politicians they have there and the obscure oligarchies who really run the show.
by seamus on Tue May 09, 06 9:23am [+]

A war with mexico would be boring. They'd surrender in about 5 minutes as their entire army deserted to come to the US and pick vegetables.

Cath: I was certain somebody will say something like that! :--)
by johann_moritz on Tue May 09, 06 9:26am [+]

yes, as would we, given how corrupt the current american government is.
by Kev24 on Tue May 09, 06 10:09am [+]

Iraq was a five minute war but a 3 year peace, I guess some people like repeating the same mistakes.

Johann is perfectly right.

This too has been going on for years. I should be more accurate and say centuries.
