As opposed to earlier times, when klan-type racists were loud and proud, modern klan racists often keep a low profile. They tend to speak softly and use a superficially reasonable tone when promoting their racist agenda. They also avoid the use of buzzwords and open criticism of other ethnic groups or races. Often too, they focus on anecdotes, criticizing individuals who "just happen" to belong to a particular race, and claim they would make the same criticism, even if the person was a member of their race. They don't, however, seem to ever make similar criticisms of members of their own race.

The chameleon-like behavior of the modern Klan racist gives the racist an opportunity to declare that he isn't a racist at all, even though he truly has a racist agenda.

So, if a Klan racist, despite his actions, declares that he's not a racist, does his saying so mean he's not?

Yes, what you say you are, you are
No, people should be judged by their actions
Why do you care?
by definition he is a racist if he is in the Klan, duh
if you swap al-queda for klan and terrorist for racist does it make it easier to figure this out?

People should always be treated with respect. Some of the time they may not be racist or they may change. I can certainly name a few politicians that have legitimately changed.

On B&W, you can really tell when you've pissed somebody off, because they immediately start accusing you of being someone else. The number one racist here at B&W (and I'm not meaning you) has a long history of doing that.

Poking fun at ghetto blacks and rurals whites,Jews,arabs,asians,... is fine with me if it's just out of humor and done with consistency across the spectrum.Beezlebubba is a good example of an equal opportunity offender,no problem with him.I'm not a prude.I have no problem when somebody makes use of statistics reguarding race to support a case they present even where others may be offended.That's fine with me,that's what rebuttals are for.
Then there are the situations where particular users tend to focus on a particular race/group and the bias becomes obvious.That's doesn't necessarily offend me either because I know that when some people operate that way it's more a product of their trying offset what they see as reverse bias/counter argument by other users.I understand.It's when that stereotyping takes on a mean spirited tone that I think it becomes counter productive and offensive.I have found that plenty of users who try to shame other users by pointing out hot buttom/non PC comments themselves typically lay it on pretty thick themselves with thier target scapegoats.It's the hypocracy that I find annoying and divisive.
