COMMENTS:
Ever since the man came into the majors, he's had this massive attitude problem. In an interview he did about ten years ago, he said that it was a response to the way his father and godfather were treated during their years in the majors. Which was abysmal, at best, I'll freely admit. But wrong doesn't abet wrong, Barry. Never has, never will.
The man doesn't care. I wonder if part of that is due to the steroids or whether he was just a jerk to begin with. He could certainly help himself by being more friendly. Also, by not doing things like refusing to sign the 713 home run ball for a fan who caught it. The guy who caught it likely to be sent off to Iraq soon. Doing things like this give people little choice but to think he is an ***hole. How hard was it for him to sign it???
Have you seen the size of his head? Whenever he arrives in a city his head is picked up by radar screens at the local airports.
The man is a great baseball player, no question. But his attitude leaves everything to be desired.
It's blows my mind that this guy is still being permitted to play baseball. God I hate that sport--now more than ever. My sister worked with him on a commercial a few years ago, and said he behaved like an egomaniacal douche -- no doubt stemming, at least in part, from his use of steroids. He should be banished from baseball forever and his name should be wiped from any and all record books.
