Thanks computer for screwing up my ballot! How's THAT gonna look "Would the eco ... " ?
Hey!!! Outlaw tobacco and I'll start snorting belly button fluff! WTF! are you on about? seriously, lol.
It's nasty stuff all right, but prohibition doesn't work.
Why would anyone want to illegalize it? Sure it's unhealthy but it's capitalism -- just tax it if there are health risks.
It is not America's place to interfere with other countries' drug policies -- particularly in light of how illogical our own policies are. I doubt that the United States would take any action, though I'm certainly not ruling out the possibility. We are viewed by many as the world's police force, or the world's bully -- and not entirely without good reason. But if some country wants to make nicotine illegal, that is out of our jurisdiction, regardless of potential economic consequences. In fact, more power to them if they want to take that step. In the interest of safeguarding the health of the populace, it's a very good idea to make tobacco less available to people.
Would the ecomonies of killerweed-growing States like Virginia, Kentucky, North and South Carolina wither and die? Is THIS why Tobacco can't be made illegal?
Well, at face value, the Guv'mint would go along with it. Privately, they'd give Big Tobaccy *billions* to fight the criminalization.
