WILL YOU VOTE FOR SOMEONE YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE TO VOTE PARTISAN?

In the USA, at least, there are people who will vote the straight party line, without even hearing the candidates out.

I heard someone at the polls last year say they didn't pay attention to who was running, as long as they were Republican. Now, I'm not bitching just because I'm a Democrat, but I don't vote strictly party line. In fact, sometimes I have voted for Republicans when they were the better candidate of the two (but it is rare.)

I support my party no matter what
I vote for the candidate, not the party
I vote for the better looking candidate

COMMENTS:
I've tossed my ballot for Republicans in recent elections. Might have to this coming one, if Cynthia McKinney wins the Dem primary.

No, I will not knowingly vote for an idiot just because he sports a label I may like.

I don't have a party, these days, but I still have a philosophy, based on previous affiliations:

If a party with whom I sympathize nominates an idiot, supporting that idiot increases the chances of future idiots and increases the chances that 'my party' will be undermined by his/her actions. Better to take a pass and send a message to the party not to fall sway to opportunistic or corrupt idiots.
