Can't answer this, because I'm a Black man who's listening to "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" as he types.
Can you say "Jimi Hendrix"?
As for why this phenomenon exists, best thing I can suggest ids that it's a generational/locational thing. Everyone I know in my generation prefers rock. Everyone I know in the following generation prefers hip-hop. It's just what the radio was tossing out at the time. As for locational, I was blessed enough to grow up in earshot of the two greatest MOR (middle-of-the-road)stations in Creation. I got everything from the Ohio Players to Charlie Daniels.
Don't be so general.
Chuck Berry, Little Richard & Jimi Hendrix
Oasis, rock and roll has its roots in Black music, and there is a whole volume of "crossover" music which fuses rock and soul. As we move forward in time, all those labels and distinctions we make based on race will melt away. With or without racists.
Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy was black, too.
I know its off topic, but Im guessing most people would spend time with a muslim than that twat IslamHater... ... just a thought.
I don't think most blacks hate rock, they just don't like it. I believe the fraction of the white population that hates rap is larger than the fraction of blacks who hate rock.
because they dont wear golds in their mouth and their pants down to there knees and look like a bunch of thugs
Word.
I think it has more to do with what you grew up with, rather than color of your skin.

I've been in Rock bands with black people.
Rock began with blacks. Hendrix, Berrie, Little Richard. I think that most black people (and people of other races) don't like the heavy metal stuff. It just doesn't sound like music. You can't dance to it, you can't make love to it, and it jangles your nerves. I think it's the same for a lot of annoying rap music. Some music just doesn't do it for some folks. Personal choice, Friend. People tend to shy away from music that says nothing, and evokes no feeling. "Janis Joplin Fan".
Maybe because everytime blacks create some kind of music this time being rock the whites steal it. Rap is next.
I do like rock, or did. we were the people who created it in the first place. I just like rock today, because its very... white? i couldnt think of any other way to put it...
well, im a 13 year old Black girl and i love rock and metal. Its basically my life. Sure, majority of Blacks dislike rock or anything with fast guitar riffs and drums with screaming blended in with the noise. And there's actually more Blacks who like Rock more than you think. So, you really can't say why black people hate rock music but, why do majority of black people hate it. And most of them dont hate it, its just not their style.
Voted : Not all of them hate it
I am white but i dont see why we some of us hate black people... What harm do they ever do to us? they dont bomb us or anything... they mix with our culture... and most of them are cristian!
rock is gay
