Religion. All of their beleifs and everything they stand for was founded on religion. Hence the term 'conservative'. It's believing in yesterday's tyrants and yesterdays' forms of oppression. As long as it's God, you need to give it unconventional support! Remember the key things about fundamental religion: You don't need reason for anything, as long as it says it in the Holy Book it's okay and you need to support it. Anyone who doesn't support it is trying to corrupt society and will burn in hell.
