COMMENTS:
Albert Pujols is exactly what baseball needs right now. I think the combination of him and a healthy, MVP-form Jim Thome has reminded fans that it is actually possible to hit well and consistently without the aid of banned performance enhancers. Unfortunately, people will stop pitching to Pujols pretty soon this year and possibly forever more, but to see him at about 64 homers and 158 RBI for the year sounds about right...and, since I brought him up earlier, roughly 48 and 125 for Thome.
^Gotta agree with your assessment. Them two are both monsters, not to mention both known all around baseball as good guys.
odd that he has hit so much... reminds me of another player... he didn't reach his prime until his 30s... of course.... he didn't use any cough cough assistance. Just a late bloomer I guess.
I think he's got a lot more in the tank, if only he stays healthy. I'm surprised that rumors about him juicing up aren't rampant. And a lot of picthers aren't up to their stuff yet, so he might hit forty before the All-Star Break easy.
