COMMENTS:
It pays my bills. Capitalism is only as good as the people in the system. That goes for both the employees as well as the employers. It's not capitalism itself that has screwed things up for people, it's the excessive greed of those participating in it. It would be a near perfect system if it werent for human nature.
I wish we had capitalism in this country. The vast majority of us would be much better off.
"pure" capitalism cannot and will not work, what America has is a diluted version that implements socialist policies. And, though capitalism CAN undeniably raise the average wealth per capita, it can also breed a culture of individualism and greed, which is surely something we should be looking to improve on in the coming century.
America doesn't have capitalism, it has something called crapitalsim where big corporations are in bed with major government institutions. They get government contracts, the government treats it like its child and etc...It's not capitalism unless the economy is completely independent from the government.
