Course. I purchased something for $500 and sent it to Canada. The guy i was sending it to didnt want me to state the value on the package incase he would get charged more money. I (stupidly) agreed and sent it off to Canada. I then got told by the receiver "the box had been broken into and the contents stolen" Fucking great i thought, as i had no proof how much the item cost me as i didnt put the value on the box. He scammed me for sure the bastard.
Yeah, that sure taught me a lesson about selling things on the Internet.

I havent, but my sister has. Especially from some people who pay using PayPal. Paypal has such an easy money back policy that some will contact PayPal and lie about not getting their package, resulting in the seller not getting paid. That's why she's quit using PayPal and only accepts credit cards, checks or money orders now.
I have not got scammed YET on eBay like an item not arriving. Only two times items I recieved were not in the condition promised. I got my money back. But somehow buying an cool antique on eBay is not as exciting as finding it at an the swapmeet. I don't know why.

There are tons of scammers on Ebay. I used to sell cell phones and would always get requests from peple asking me to ship phones to Nigeria, and would pay by western union, all of which were scammers. I sold a laptop to a guy who sent a phony western union payment. I had already mailed the package off but the idiot gave a fake name but his home address. I looked up the address, found his number, and spoke with his mother (who he lived with BTW) Explained to her the situation and told her I would contact the police if it was not returned immediately. She insisted I must be mistaken, less than a week later, I had my laptop back. NEVER ACCEPT ANY OTHER PAYMENT THAN PAYPAL!!! and always wait til the payment has cleared before shipping.
