as a whole i dont see the united states getting any better as far as high unemployment rates, of course inflation is always gonna be a problem, high crime rates, and pollution

do you think that the united states as a whole will get better anytime soon, i dont?

its on a steady decline
it will never get better
it will get better when bush is out of office
i think it has gotten better
my comment is
When the borders are closed America will get better
I hope not

COMMENTS:
I wish I could say that things will get better as time wends on, but I have my doubts. The seeds of the divisions within us are monetary in nature. As long as the Haves have and the Have-Nots want to Have, we're in for rough weather.

Right now I think most of America's problems stem from our open border policy. If we finally get control of the borders the crime rate will decline, social services will improve, unemployement will improve, taxes will lower and our national security will be much stronger than it currently is.Cure the plague of illegal immigration and America should raise from her death bed.

I've no doubt american users won't like this, but from an outsiders point of view america is definitely on a steady decline. The united states is the great empire of our age and history has shown that all empires collapse eventually. The USA's glory days were in the late 20th century when american culture dominated the world and everyone wanted to be a part of it, american movies and television reached every person in the developed (and even much of the less-developed) world and it was huge. Nowadays american culture still is popular, but the world is slowly turning it's back on the united states. Whether it's because of the USA's foreign policy, or because of changes in the rest of the world such as the growth in importance of the EU, America is slowly losing its appeal. Eventually China or the EU or someone else will take over as the great empire of the world and america will have to be content with being just another country, with all the usual problems normal countries have, and internal matters such as those mentioned above will be unlikely to improve.

I expect the US to continue increasing its lead on Europe but China and India (if it cuts the socialist crap) will be the big players in the next century and their expansion will cause the the US's relative position to decrease.

A lot of it is courtesy of Asshole Bush.

Ya its basically on a decreasing level right now but weve had worse. If you think about it bush really is fighting for the middle eastern oil. And really everything is going as planned. He has iraq's oil fields now and isreal is soon going to be fighting other middle eastern countries besides lebanon. Hes doing exactly as bush told him to do and soon the united states will interfere fighting these countries and probably making these countries good friends of the united states and taking there oil cheaper. With that the united states will control most of the worlds oil supply pulling us in way more than the war has cost us. A lot of people may disagree but bush already lied about looking for nuclear weapons in iraq and now has every oil field he can get protected by united states soldiers.
