Of Course I Would; Actually I Imagine It Would Be More Fun Than a Bunch of Straight People.

uhm... why not? I am gay.
No, i wouldnt want to be in with a bunch of men walking, talking and expressing themselves like women especially if they were wearing skin-tight clothing, flamboyant jewellry and silly headgear that gay men usually wear.
^ lol, you're joking right? Some of the best-looking macho men I've ever seen are gay. Two of 'em are members of this website.

You only have to watch Big Brother to see what i mean!
It shows he better watch out, his best friend might be gay if that's how he thinks.
NO not really. though the end of the night is a good time to go elsewhere and find some straight females :D
If they were overtly feminine like Smoothdiamond says, then I too might have a problem with that. If they were just normal acting people who were gay I would have no problem with that whatsoever.
I've never attended a Young Republicans meeting, so I can't really say.
I've done it before. And it *is*, mojo.
That depends on the event. If it's something gay oriented then no I wouldn't. If it's just a coincedence then sure I'd go. Why go somewhere that's gay based if you're not gay. That's like a Republican going to the DNC.
I've gone to straight parties many times, we can hold our own in any conversation, we're not all about ways to find a man and interior decorating.
I have any number of times, had a good time--and no one was seriously hurt, I promise.
I would, but only if they were open minded and not prone to narrow minded attacks on people who disagree politically.
Incidently lilape, what qualifies as 'normal' in your book?
smoothdiamond really does think that way. ironically, all he ever writes about when it comes to gay men are ridiculous stereotypes. i seriously think he has issues -- it looks like maybe he has a "dress-up" side to him we don't know about. you know, like maybe he's really feminine and flamboyant and dresses up and dances around and holds his limp wrist out and talks in a lisp. closet queen. most of the gay men i know are masculine. i don't think i know any that aren't. adam plays rugby and at least 2 other guys on his team are gay. i play lacrosse and one other guy is gay. no one would know. smooth, i think maybe you got all dolled up one night in your gay-wear, went to the nearest gay bar and got rejected -- thats what your biterness is all about, right sally?
"Silly headgear?" So most gay men are Shriners?
^ no. smooth is referring to the big pink, frilly ribbon he wears in his hear when he's playin "diva dance queen." he looks pretty good in it, i have to admit. pink is his signature color.
^ that should be in his hair.
Steel In this case I (quite obviously I thought) meant normal as in their personalities arent defined by their sexuality, whereas I believe that the personalities of flamboiantly, overtly gay people are. Why do *some* gay people feel the ened to act as stereotypically gay as they possibly can? I cant believe it really does themselves or the average gay guy to potray that sort of image. Im heterosexual, does that mean I need to act like desperate Dan and act as masculine as possible, speaking in a deep voice, showing off my hairy chest and leering at women? No. You can try to misconstrue my use of the word "normal" to make it sound negative all you like, probably call me a repressed homosexual eh? I dont care. I have no respect for people who act like fairies, particularly ones who make a living from it (think Graham Norton).
^ nah, you're not repressed at all.
^lil_ape... You may not be a "Desperate Dan", but there's certainly no shortage. My housemate is a very attractive hetro female that I've socialized with for years. Whether at a party, bar or other social event, she is constantly bombarded and pawed by "Desperate Dans"... Per Capita I'd guess there are more "Desperate Dan" RO's than "Nellie Queen" MO's...

Methinks lilape protests too much...
If I was motivated to attend an event, that would not put me off.
