COMMENTS:
A recent survey by the Border Patrol of people caught trying to cross the U.S. border illegally found that 45% were crossing at that time because they had heard of El Presidente Bush's amnesty plan. Of course, the survey, which was scheduled to last a few months was immediately cancelled. Gee, I wonder why?

I wish the National Guard would surround the White House. I wish they would arrest Bush, Cheney, Karl Rove and most of the Bush White House. I wish the National Guard would drag the entire Bush family before a public court so we could find them guilty of just being and then force them to work in some dark mine for the rest of their natural days.
If you can't tell, I despise that entire family.
As for the immigrants, I feel kind of sorry for them. I hate to think of them being scared and running. Its not human. I wish they could all come here, but I don't think thats possible.

Well they could if Canada would open up too. Then there would be plenty of room for all. Right now in the USA, there is no room, believe me. With nearly 300 million people, a Population Statistical model shows us at capacity at 325 million. Nope. Canada will just have to make room in the attic. They have so much room up there!

The usa could support a population well in excess of 1 billion. and still have space. Using your maths patch the UK would be nearly 10 times overpopulated. But it isnt.

They have every right in the world to apply and come here legally. Beyond that they have no right to sneak in when we aren't looking and reside here without permission.
Legal immigrants, great, everyone that meets the qualifications and becomes a citizen is welcome. But even a single illegal immigrant is too many and is most definitely not welcome in this country.
Both legal and illegal Mexicans are a drain on the economy. No matter what, this is a losing situation for America.

Well I have a solution. Instead of our sending jobs to China, why not build factories in Mexico and other Central and South American countries and outsource the jobs to them? I mean after all, they're our neighbors and what benefits them, could very well benefit us. Who's for it?

Over 8 times as many. that would rise if only england were included.
So even if you population doubled youd still be 3 times less populous than the UK

so what do the other 10.7 million want. cause there are approximately 11 million illegal immigrants in the usa right now, most from mexico and central america. so maybe thats where your facts seem a bit off.
They are not migrants and they are not immigrating. They are illegal invaders. Let them go through the proper channels to obtain citizenship or do something about their own corrupt country.
How can you know there are 11 milion illegal immigrants? How is that possible to know? Even in a small country like britain we have no real idea. how can a place as big as america know what these figures are. Besides my quote of a few hundred thousand was just a random figure not meant to convey any realistic assesment of the problem.
they don't know. they calculated that it was as high as 14 million and as low as 8. their best estimation is about 11 million. they also use migrant workers as a benchmark. there are other means as well, including tracking medical care, census numbers and i'm sure other means for estimating.
I'm not at all surprised that they are finding fewer illegal crossings where there is a large deterrent force.

What I am surprised at is your ensuing assumption that just because fewer people are picked up where that force is, that there are fewer border crossings, in general.
Here's a clue: They've merely moved to another location.

Hey, it's a big country, you can't stop every crime, so what's the point of putting cops anywhere if you can't put them everywhere?
The fact is that this disproves the lie the left was spreading that troops on the border would not work and argues for an even greater deployment.
Mobsie first of all they arent shooting the immigrants but scaring them away. And it is something like 11 million because all you have to do is simply drive to california and arizona. Its become Mexico!! But for the people who are against the immigrants being here you have no heart. See i could understand if the mexicans were coming from a million dollar home to the u.s to steal american jobs but when its a family with a one bedroom home and no roof its different. Look at it this way. Look at it as if mexico was the rich country of north america and the u.s was the poor run down country. If you were running into mexico from your one bedroom home with your wife and kids and need to find them food and shelter soon or they will most likely die would you want mexico to let you stay? Think about it. We have plenty of room and jobs and if we dont have enough jobs we can always make more. China is smaller than the u.s and holds how many billion people? I think most americans dont want the mexicans into the country (not because of there race) but because of what the mexicans have been doing that scares americans. First they came into the country protesting there flag over ours like they run us. Then they all kind of stuck together in california and arizona and if you go there to date most of the places have become spanish run. But for mobsie if this was happening in the u.k would you want americans to run there mouths about something they dont have any info on. Not trying to start anything with you but i found it wrong that you would come into an american ballot an putting your comment in terms that makes it out to look like noone cares. Im pretty sure bush is letting the mexicans stay but they only put the national guard down there so that it doesnt keep going on. What happens when terrorist go into mexico and simply walk over the border into the u.s? That is why we need to stop it now before terrorists catch on to this.
