WOULD YOU RATHER BE A RICH LOSER OR A POOR WINNER?

My apologies if the ballot question seems simplistic; please read the description:

If you had to choose, would you prefer to work your whole life for an a**hole you hate or in a profession that leaves you cold, commuting for hours every day, just so you can live in a big house (that you rarely see) and drive a fancy car? In this scenario, you have a steady paycheck, which is a big plus, but otherwise life isn't too enjoyable.

Or, would you prefer instead to pursue a line of work that suits you, without the commute, but live more modestly? With this option, you get a chance to 'smell the roses' but you don't have that steady paycheck or the fancy trappings.

Think about it.

Give me security, never mind the roses.
I'd rather smell the roses.

COMMENTS:
Sadly, I believe the 'more leisurely route' is becoming a thing of the past ... for any income level.

I've already backed off from where I was ... and never regretted it.

I've lived both sides of this, in a sense, and I'm happier now than I was then.
