I don't think he would have been elected president but i do think the civil rights issues would be in much better condition today if he had lived. some people are born just to one purpose. His was to elevate the black race to equality with the white. His legacy lives on. Unfortunately, america is still not ready to elect a black man as president. i think Colin Powell realized this when he decided not to run. this is unfortunate, but prejudices live on, don't they?

No, I don't think he wanted to be president. We certainly would have a more tolerant society today, though.

I don't think so. He was too much of an annoyance to the Power Elite to be allowed a shot. Hoover was well on his way to compiling a dossier against him when he was assassinated.
