COMMENTS:
Extremism is always worrying. But if we were all being honest with ourselves I am sure we would agree that of course their cause was right - they just made a statement about it in the most reprehensible way possible.
You can get 150,000 of any group to agree to something. This is not even a significant minority. I shall be working on the underground all this week, regardless of any threat. On fear gives succour to terrorists, when you refuse to fear, they have no power.
How can the attacks be wrong, but the 'cause be right? HYPOCRITES!

well steelhamster. Mosley's fascist party only totalled 50,000 but it certainly concerned the British government. Why are you so quick to write off 150,000 people with extreme views?
In that case lets close down the football grounds, there are regularly 50,000 fans at them chanting racist and violent taunts.
Steelhamster- What would you call a significant minority? You stated that you think 10% is not significant. So what is significant and what is not- where do you personally draw the line?
"How can the attacks be wrong, but the 'cause be right? HYPOCRITES!" by aya on Jul 04, 2006 9:01am Not at all. Their cause = protest at the participation of the UK in the rape of Iraq. It's like pro-lifers who kill doctors that perform abortions. If you don't agree with abortion I am sure you would say that the doctor-killing pro-lifer's attack was wrong but for the right cause. Does that make sense?
To me, No. To their followers, I'm sure they are viewed as such. Martyrdom is a subjective recognition.
Worrying to whom? Those who are looking for an easy excuse to hate Muslims?
cranky- Worrying to whom? A number of people. Including the 90% of British Muslims who do not feel that way. "Those who are looking for an easy excuse to hate Muslims?" - No, those people would have already made up their bigoted minds regardless of any statistics, facts, analysis, etc.
