Yes, that would be wrong of you to do that, cheeky monkey.
We all have some African in us. Most "blends" are too numerous for hyphenation!!
Why? I think, to improve race relations, we should just get rid of those annoying race questions on forms. I filled out a college form and put African American down. They've seen me too.
First, all of humankind descends from Africa, so you can rightly claim it. Second, the US Census Bureau allows any American to claim any racial category they wish. Imagine the mess if the Census Bureau started trying to do racial classifications. Aside from the Nazi tone, it would be virtually imposssible. For example, how would you classify a person with an Indian grandmother and African grandfather, whose parents were Asian and Aleut? So, claim whatever you wish. Somewhere back in those bushes, all of us have all sorts of ancestors.
absolutely. if the powers to be wants to start labelling people by color, you get the right to mess with them. I myself classify myself randomly according to weather and color of socks I am wearing.

There are a quite a number of Caucasians that live in Africa. If they immigrate to the US, they can be considered African-Americans.
I always put 'Other' if they ask to state what, I say 'Martian'
Heh, heh, I've been an eskimo, more than once.
Just do like I do and list your self as "Racist" and keep 'em guessing.
