Just can't justify the expense to go back much further. Most of my wines excursions are in the 1990s or 2000s.
somebody once gave me a gift of portuguese wine that was supposed to be 100 years old... I don't drink, but I used it in my cooking.

^ (wince) 100 year old Portuguese wine ... in cooking?!?
Screw-tops are the best BY FAR. Cheaper the better. Guzzle guzzle is how u drink wine.
I suppose this falls in the category of wine--1964 Dom Perignon.
I think it was a 1972 Dom Perignon. And that was in the 1990s.
