Ha ... I'd say that any of those first three would be distinct possibilities. Now that we know the two extremes (no support and unquestioning support), maybe someone will explore that area in between.
^that would take balls Cathexis. The status quo is politically safer for a politicians longevity. Meanwhile the middle east continues fester.
*to fester
I just had a similar conversation with a friend on this matter and, in the interim, I though of the perfect sci-fi analogy. In Babylon 5, there were the Narns and the Centauri. The Narns were a highly aggressive race of lizard-like creatures, extremely warlike, while the Centauri were more fun-loving and personable. At face value, many viewers held the Centauri in great affection, and the Narns in dislike, solely by face-value judgment. Then, later into the series, it's learned that the Narns were enslaved by the Centauri for a long time and, upon liberating themselves, vowed never to be under anyone's bootheel again, to fight for their safety until the last breath of the last member of their race was expended. Sound familiar?
There wouldn't be an Israel to beat up on anymore.
That wont happen until the Zionist lobby stops funding the current administrations. If it ever does stop then finally the western media can speak out at the war crimes Israel has committed and continues to commit to this day.

It's hard to say what would happen if Israel lost Americas support but I don't think it would fall apart and be invaded by it's neighbors. If anything Israel would become more militant because it no longer has the U.S to hold it back.
I wonder what would happen if the countries that voted in favor of the creation of Israel in 1947 suddenly began supporting Israel to the same degree that the U.S. does. With all due respect to Israel and the plight of the Jewish people (post World War II), none of the other major countries that voted in favor of the creation of Israel--such as France, Canada, Brazil and Australia; not to mention half of South America and about a dozen other countries--appear to give a fuck about Israel at this point. Why do we? (I'm not even implying that we shouldn't necessarily support Israel. I'm just curious about our motivation.) - I also understand that we are the most powerful nation, currently. I'm sorry if I'm being ignorant. Please correct me if you know more than I do, which you probably do. It's just so frustrating to watch the Middle East exploding with Israel right in the middle of it -- not to mention that little Iraq/Afghanistan thing.
They don't ƒu¢k around when it comes to collection of their extortion money.
