Oops ... should have been "... not just being anxious or nervous." Hoisted on the petard of my own self-editing!
For me, it was about a decade ago, when I realized that a back injury I got as a firefighter might have permanent/ crippling effects.
the ONLY time I recall, was when I did a 360 on my motorcycle, trying to avoid a old lady who was coming on the freeway at 30mph at 3am in the morning. (and I was speeding like an idiot) after I pulled over, I had to collapse on the side of the road for 30min, because I thought my heart stopped beating. and I was sweating profusely and hyperventilating. I don't think I ever had that type of fear since then, because that's not the type of thing that you can prepare for.

A couple of nights ago, I woke up in a cold sweat. For me, that's usually the first herald of my having pneumonia, something I've already had eleven times in my life. My doctor told me that he'd never heard of anyone having it more than four times in their life and living past the age of fifty. For the record, it was just me being dumb enough to slip under the covers while the air was on, and sweating buckets when it went off. Sorry to disappoint you folks. ;-)
A creep in a parking lot, following me. Quick reflexes and flat shoes helped.

Every doctors visit
I feel aggrevation, not fear.
When I read that Israel invaded Lebanon.
