Ofcourse because the Middle East is not one monolith that is in complete agreement with itself.The factional riffs within Islam alone would be enough to keep turmoil alive in the M.E.Throw in racial,ethnic and national quarles and you are sure to have blood on the sand.
Muslims are insane, Islam teaches intolerance and hatred and where there is Islam there is strife.
Many militias and governments in the Middle-east would still be clashing with the Western world for various reasons.

- I disagree with your asertion that all Muslims are insane and Islam equates to hate.
But I will say this, there has recently been a rise in political Islam in the Middle-east in elsewhere by certain elements. This rise in Political Islam and an Islamic Resurgence is important in violent upheavals against the West, other civilisations, Islamic sectarianism, as well as terrorist attacks against established governments in the Middle-east.
But it would have a different face and be more fractured. It would also not be so prone to any unifying events (e.g., involving Israel).
For example, the Iraq-Iran conflict had nothing to do with Israel.
Now, it probably would nto be at the level it has been, with Israel there.
