Higgins and the CIA Station Chief in Beirut, William Francis Buckley, and of the kidnapping of at least 30 other Westerners between 1982 and 1992, including the American journalist Terry Anderson, British journalist John McCarthy, the Archbishop of Canterbury's special envoy Terry Waite and Irish citizen Brian Keenan. And the bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut on September 20, 1984, which killed 20 Lebanese and two American soldiers; and of carrying out the 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847.
On TWA flight 847 they discovered American Navy diver, Robert Stethem, among the passengers. They beat him, shot him in the right temple, and dumped his body out of the plane onto the tarmac.
You should be grateful Israel is doing what the US should have done a long time ago. Wiping out a vile terrorist group.

The government of Israel has launched bombings of civilian targets in Lebanon, and continues the slaughter of our neighbours in Gaza with weapons, funding and political support from the United States.
The sanitized images in global Corporate and State media do not really convey the depth of these atrocities. Collective punishment of civilians in revenge for military actions is universally understood to be an act of genocide and a war crime - what can we say of a Government that engages systematically in ethnic cleansing aimed at "purging" the Middle East of "Arab cockroaches"?
On Wednesday, Israel dropped a quarter-ton bomb on a home in Gaza City, purposefully, in order to assassinate a member of the Palestinian resistance. The bombing killed a couple and seven of their children, ages 4-18, and injured 34 people.
The two-week long invasion of Gaza continues.
Resistance to it, by any means necessary, also continues.
People in their homes and neighborhoods have no other option but to fight to the death, engaged in superhuman efforts to defend their communities and to repel the Israeli invaders. But what about the leaders in the White House and in the comfortable offices of the Israeli occupation regime who order the slaughters, who sustain the genocide, who pursue and initiate every provocation - what fuels their commitment to endless butchering?
Will it take an Armageddon, just as the religious supporters of George Bush are praying for, to stop this insanity?
I'm just a little confused here. Israel is the culprit in Gaza and Lebanon? Gees. Aren't we ignoring the first cause here? Wasn't Israel attacked before action in either case? Indeed.

I can list the number of attacks your favorite terror groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the PLO have committed. Pretty much all of which were directed SOLELY at civilian targets unlike Israel which tries very hard to avoid killing civilians. This is why when they bombed the foreign ministry of the PA, they did it at night to avoid killing innocents.

Excuse me, but that is the uttermost piece of crap I have seen you post. Israel is trying to get back its kidnapped soldier. Hammas could have avoided all this by not kidnapping him. There is no "slaughter", no genocide. To argue that shows you have no understanding of what the term means. It is also anti-semitic to wrongly accuse a people who have suffered more from genocide than any other of doing this. If you want to talk about "comfortable offices" then ask the PLO, Hamas, and others in the PA why they are so rich when the rest suffer. Where did Arafat get his billions? Israel would be more than happy to help the palestians if they would opt for peace instead of war every time.

They certainly wouldn't be treated as well as Israel treats those in Gaza. For example, Israel offers to bring in medical supplies even during a conflict. Israel even collected taxes on behalf of the PA and gave it to the PA before Hamas came in.

Because a cease fire will only halt the fighting temporarily. It will start right back up in a matter of time. We're dealing with terrorist organizations that will not stop until the "infidels" are all dead. And they will sacrifice anyone (including innocent civilians on both sides) to accomplish this.
If Israel is really interested in fighting Hezbolloh, then why don't they attack Hezbolloh, instead of civilian targets? Of course, they are making the case that everything in Lebanon is somehow associated with Hezbolloh. Israel even blew up a lighthouse. I'm sure that was an important terrorist facility.
