COMMENTS:
France is a nation of cowards and losers. EuroDisney had to stop their nightly fireworks shows because every night, 3 or 4 french garrisons would cry out "I surrender" (in french, of course)
Switzerland is 50 X the country as France.
The Italians just take a lot of beating. OK, the French are crap soldiers but they always have been right back to the days of the Romans they showed individual bravery but could not gel as a unit. The Swiss have never pretended to be brave and have allways been in it for the money, but the Italians. What do you say. It was official policy to change side as the war changed. What a bunch of shitbags. A CAPTURED gERMAN GENERAL ONCE TOLD HIS bRITISH CAPTORS THAT NEXT TIME YOU CAN HAVE THE iTALIANS!
fucking frogs!
I like the Swiss. They are smart. Neutrality is often a far smarter move than defiance unless you have serious hardware to support your defiance. Let's not forget that they aid POW's, supply medics and help opposing countrys reach agreements like when Hitler shackled all British commandos, in response we shackled a load of their POW's. Neither side won and the swiss helped us reach an agreement to unshackle all the prisioners.
And they have BO
France has just designed a new national flag. It is a white cross on a white background.
France is. Switzerland is Nuetral.
I think you're all right, Guest_6b131. French have never been coward, you see, and I remember my uncle who said that they charged (I hope you know what does that mean, americans)against the FNL during Algerian events.
switzeland is built on a culture of defence its too small to invade germany france or austria
the americans are full of shit their government has persuaded them france is bad, its not ! they had the right stance on iraq and they don't have wimpiest troops the yanks do they depnd solely on technology and safety in numbers, they're cowards, they almost left europe to be crushed by hitler if it wasn't for britain
america is the most cowardly country because they only attack poor middle eastern countries who cant fight back

One could make the opposite case, that rather than acquiesce to the military and financial might of the USA, the French stood up for what they believed in, i.e. international law as opposed to vigilante justice. It would have been far easier for them to just tag along.
How many people here have actually read about the reasons why France didn't support the USA's attack on Iraq rather than simply listening to what the Bush White House and its right-wing news network mouthpieces say? Do you really think it was a case of the USA standing up to a major threat when others were too afraid to do so? The major risk with respect to invading Iraq weren't that armed service personnel might be killed. (Iraq's military capabilities were laughable.) The risk was that by circumventing international law, an unauthorized invasion would signal a return to the bad old days of "might makes right" geopolitics, and that a terrible whirlwind would be sown that we would have to reap later. The USA used to be a shining example to the world. Now it is seen as a morally-dubious plutocracy/oligarchy. It's a shame, because in so many ways it's such a great nation, but the reaction of its citizens when its government is criticized from abroad is not to question the actions of the government but instead to spit blood at those criticizing. I suppose it doesn't help that the foreigners are so sloppy with their language, saying things like 'You Americans' when really they mean 'your President and his administration' so it feels like they're attacking you personally. I have little doubt that in years to come, Bush's White House will be viewed as one of the most derided and vilified in history.
