in the quest for the almighty dollar, they have crossed the boundary of good taste many a times, but this is rediculous.

On cnn, "Child star Dakota Fanning is in a rape scene in her new movie."

making a child acting out in a rape scene? What the heck were they thinking?

has hollywood gone too far here? Would you boycott all movies from this studio?

No, I would go see this movie

Yeah, I think that's going too far. Dakota Fanning may act a bit older than her age, but she still shouldn't be able to act out a scene like that. What studio made the movie anyway?

Wow that is outrageous I mean ofcourse child rape is a reality that should be talked about but this in horrible taste.Couldn't the writter bring the rape into the story in a more suddle way? IC_mrsick

They've shown child rape or pedophilia in movies before this - off the top of my head I remember The Butterfly Effect and The Prince of Tides.

kids act out all kinds of terrible things in movies. the butterfly effect especially (burning dogs, blowing up babies, killing each other with rusted metal, swearing like sailors, starring in their fathers' porn films, etc.) it's never been a problem before.

I'm french and i love Dakota . She's a great actress but i don't understand why a such adorable and wise girl like her has to do in a pedo movie .. that's disgusting ... how can her mother accepts this kind of situation in which her own child will be fake raped ..... Even for fun or for game , i wouldn't be able to send any child to imitate this horrible thing . This the last and worst thing to do before suicide . Her mother is killing her child's future life ... I can't imaginate this nice little girl , that looks so sensitive and smart , becomes kinda crazy or worst with her sexuality , because of a sexual psycho shock , even if it was a fake rape ( because for sake or for real , being into this kind of situation creates future traumas ). Plus it'll shock people that gotta see her being raped , either in US or in Europe ... What will people say about it ? Many associations for childhood protection will make a war against those crappy producers ! I'm sure of it .

I saw something like this in the movie "Bastard out of Carolina" and it made me sick. All I could think of was that poor child.
