Note I said "ANY military reaction" before someone hijacks this ballot and says "it's a heavy-handed reaction blah blah blah". Yeah we know already.
Ofcourse they expected the Israelis would react with the military they saw what happened in Gaza when that one Israeli soldier was kidnapped.Although it could be that Hezbollah though Israel would just exchange their prisoners for the two Israelis. In the past Israel has participated in prisoner exchanges.
Yep. By hiding among civilians and getting missiles with increasing range and accuracy, they created a situation.
I think they are made up that Israel has reacted in the way it has. Before the Lebonese hated them, now their ranks are swelled and their popularity across the Islamic world increased. The Israeli's have shot themselves in the foot.
I'm sure this works fine in the theories, but the numbers show otherwise Chomsky. Hezbollah is more isolated than ever, and besides Syria, Iran and parts of Lebanon's government, everybody blames them for what's happening in Lebanon.

Chomsky Some may say Hezbollah shot themselves in the foot because Israel will put in a military buffer zone in Lebanon to limit the rocket attacks.
That wont make a difference bacause they have rckets with a longer range that can pass over the buffer zone. All this killing is for nothing, and that sickens me.
It is ridiculous and sickening, true.
Well, it's one thing to have a prisoner exchange. It's another to go kidnap someone to make for a prisoner exchange (they didn't capture them, they kidnapped them). Israel asked for their soldier back, the answer was no, they took it as a military offensive and returned the favor in kind...and then some. Don't start something if you don't was to accept responsibilty for the repercussions.
