I think regime change is better, hopefully fweer civillians casualties, however nucelar attacks on US military sites may be essential to avoid prolonged conflict with greater civilian casualties.
Israel and America mey be the two nations most at risk from terrorism, but that's only because of the fachist, imperialistic, right-wing nature of their governments. I can't believe that after 11/9 (this is the correct way round, by the way) Americans didn't question what they had done to make other people hate them so much. It's because for decades American foreign policy has been to engineer world politics in the direction that will give them most power. It really isn't surprising that some people get enraged enough to kill themselves.
I have to wonder if some people ever study their history. America did come into the second world war, but not for anything so noble as 'saving the europeans'. They went to war because the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour. Once they declared war on Japan, it followed that they had to declare war on Germany and Italy who were their allies. The D-Day landings as you so eloquently pointed out indeed had US troops, along with British and other Allies. You singularly fail to mention that 20 million Russians died in the self same war, were they cowardly too?
Noone doubts the bravery of the fallen in WWII, buy to dismiss the sacrifice on all sides is to negate what they fought for. You may want to try telling the lunatic racists on this site what Adolf Hitler and his ilk would have done to the world had he succeeded. If you study the history books, you may come across the American Nazi Party who were very active in the 1930s. So the remark about 'Hitler's statue in Trafalgar Sq' seems a little rich.
My family history is replete with many heroes. My grandfather for one fought against the Fascists in Spain and again in WWII, he escaped from POW camps in German held Russia and was awarded many medals for bravery

Obviously everyone else must just be stupider and lazier than ourselves. Honestly I propose that America use it's greatest show of force...by withdrawling EVERYTHING. No more aid. ummm hello? The Germans were the ones who made the vital breakthoughs in A-bomb design, as with jet engines and missles they were developing them as a way to win the war. America got hold of these technolgoies when it captured nazi scientists towards the end of WW2. All the americans did is follow their blueprints. It was just luck of the draw, if the British had got to them first, it would have been us who built them. Yes, we all bow down before the vast intelligence of the Americans!

If the tables were turned and the US had fought WWII alone, you would have lost within a couple of months. It was an international cooperative effort and nothing more or less.
