The premise that the EU is a super-power is laughable.

by Noblese_Oblige on Fri Jul 28, 06 11:57pm [+]

All the EU is is a bunch of worthless, pathetic, bickering idiots that have nothing to do but argue like children and have a 3 month long "committees" to decide anything important and are to scared to get stuck in when it comes down to it. Britain is to good for the EU and i'd rather stick with the commonwealth and the US than a bunch of argumentative, decadent and currupt bunch of retards.

We spent a thousand years defending our country from the Europeans and then some idiot desides we should join them.

The United States is indeed more powerful militarily. The EU is more of a specifically economic superpower.

spartan001- Commonwealth countries are increasingly less interested in Britain, as they set up their own regional organisations. The United States isn't really that interested in the UK for an economic bloc, but more for military cooperation in geopolitical hot-spots. It is wise that the UK has decided to join the economic bloc of its region. Besides which, the USA itself is increasingly desiring to cooperate more with the EU on economic matters- so the idea that the UK must take one side is a myth. Although, it must be said that the UK acting as a 'bridge' between the two is not a good thing. A bridge is an thing that connects two entities, but is not formally integrated as part of either.

"We spent a thousand years defending our country from the Europeans and then some idiot desides we should join them."

- Western civilisation is no longer at war with each other because of capitalism and open markets, and interdependency. It seems to be a good thing.

The people of the United States would be far better off worrying about the enemy within, the one that has taken over in the White House and which is - as I type these words - dreaming up new nightmare ways of relinquishing the freedoms of it's citizens, God knows they've taken away enough already!

Believe me America, the least of your worries is the European Union!
by Ken_from_Dublin on Sat Jul 29, 06 7:19am [+]

The US has more of an ability to act on its own, whereas the European Union has a good bit of difficulty in getting everyone together to actually do something. Fortunately, the US and European Union are allies and in NATO together.

we dont want frace--we hate france-----USA!!!!!
by jb2343 on Thu Aug 03, 06 7:03pm [+]

Lol!! We hate France? Why is that because they dont support the war? Well neither did any other country in the world. France is the only country who spoke there mind. I dont even think Britain supported the war. We also (if you know your history) have a peace treaty signed with france (nato) and most other Europian countries to always help each other in time of need. Also during the revolutionary war america asked france for help fight against britain to win our independence. After this France and Spain declared war on Britain and then France supplied us with ammo and food which was needed badly at the time. Soon America won its independence letting us be free. So before you talk about countries that are on our side pass the 6th grade.
