advice : religion : DOES NOT BELIEVING IN GOD, MAKE ME A BAD PERSON?

I was raised Catholic, but now, I don't believe.
I don't tell many people this because when I have in the past I've been called heathen or even worse, I'm pitied and preached to.

At my job many people of faith pass though my x-ray machines, I listen politely to their beliefs, but rarely comment. This is something I really don't have a problem with, my job doesnt require me to share my beliefs, in fact it's frowned on, but in my private life, among friends, they too try to change my views, convince me God exists.

Do you think it's better just not to say one way or the other, just nod when someone speaks about God , and people who also don't believe, have you had this problem and how do you deal with it?

IMO: God probably still has a plan for you because you sound like you care what others think.

Being a Christian i don't think like some others that God will throw you into a pit of fire for all eternity just because you are not a believer. Just be kind and compassionate towards others because God is merciful to those who are.

Not believing in God does not make you a bad person. Lots and lots of good and fair people do not believe in God. It is probably best to never get in a yes-no debate over the question. People who love you accept you as you are.

Not all religions are like this. Everyone has their own path to follow. Don't do bad things and you won't be a bad person (as corrupt says).

I was in the same boat as you. Used to be so devout that I once considered entering the priesthood. Now, you couldn't get me inside a church if you dropped C-notes inside the doorway.

Oh what a relief
I have to say that just because you do not believe in God does not make you a bad person.

What it does do is jeopardizes you eternal existence and where that will be yes I know a lot of people have made that like it is no big deal but it is.

The reason most Christians wrongly try to tell you that it make you a bad person is because they are concerned about you and do not want you to end up in hell and if you have been born again they do not want you to end up in Gehenna for those that may not know what that is that is where the unfaithful children of God will end up for the thousand years reign of Christ.

Anyhow even myself it saddens me that you would turn against your creator for whatever reason.
But at the same time I do know that it is your decision and that you will have to live with it in all eternity but I will not condemn you for it all though I wish you would reconsider.

Most Christians do have a hard time not acting as they are God it is not our job to condemn those outside the church for there life style or beliefs it is our job to teach those that may be willing to listen not to condemn them that is Gods job
The scripture says that it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment meaning those that would not listen will answer to God and no one else
So what a relief I do hope this helps you and please I do hope that you have not totally closed your mind but again that does not make you a bad person just one who is at odds with God

Live your own life. Just because you don't believe in Catholicism doesn't mean you don't believe in a supreme being/G-d. Besides, there are many bad people who believe in G-d and even carry out crusades in His/Her name.

People have greatly differing views between each religion. Jewish people do not believe that Jesus is their savior... If you don't follow religous ways, or believe in anything it is the same concept. If someone categorizes you as a heathen, it is the same for every person not of the same religion as that person. Everything is so different, you're just taking part of nothing. Everyone believes they're right. Many people are closed minded when it comes to religion. Worry more about philosophy and how you live your life... Enjoy it. If you die and go to hell at least you can remember having a good time.

OFCOURSE IS DOESN'T MAKE YOU A BAD PERSON!!! ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU DIFFERENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
Even though I believe in God, I strongly dislike, if not hate it when someone attacks non-believers. Just because you don't believe in God, doesn't give anyone a right to call you names. If anything, believers, especially Christians should come to you with respect and love. I have had a similar issues when surrounded by non-believers. I get called names, or preached at telling me how stupid/mindless/brainwashed I am. It is up to you to say what ever you want. My advice would be to wait to talk to someone who is genuinely loving and respectful who is willing to discuss your beliefs with you.
