We seem to be agreeing on a lot today, Herzog.

Tough call ... I am conflicted a bit. However, seeing as ... 1. Bush is in charge and has a history of screwing everything he touches. 2. Our military forces are stretched precariously thin. ... it would probably be less disastrous if we stayed out ... completely.
We are in it up to our necks. You think that we are NOT involved? this is a proxy war between the US and Iran.
Voted : We should completely stay out of it
everytime Bush says something like "We support Israel", he should be pied in the face with a coconut pie.

What do you mean "get involved?" We are involved up to our necks, already. The U.S. policy on the conflict is being dictated straight from Tel Aviv, and weapons shipments are being sent straight back. Our bias toward Israel is so blatant now that the U.S. has lost any credibility in the Muslim world, and Condi and the rest of the Bushies are simply parroting the Israeli position, as well as stopping any action on the crisis in the U.N. If the U.S. gets any more "uninvolved" we will be dropping bombs on Beirut next.
The US should have got involved when Hezbollah murdered 241 US Marines in cold blood instead of cutting and running like we did.
^Yeah, that Reagan. What a pussy.
Fiddle: yeah, we should have. But I don't think it would be worthwhile getting involved now. Retaliation loses effect if you wait too long after the initial event to retaliate. Besides, it doesn't look as if the Israelis need much help.
Now, if say iran and some other nations joined in and turned things around and it looks like the arabs will accomplish their half-century long goal of completing the final solution, sure we should help out our ally in a time of need. I'm not saying we behave like some of our european 'friends' and completely abandon an ally in a time of need, but right now I don't see that they need our help, so we should stay out of it.
Voted : What makes you think they're not involved now?
Get involved? We are already involved in the conflict;America has suppied the Israelis with weapons and the Lebanonese with aid.If you mean we should send in troop then I would say no.However if the conflict turns into a regional war with Syria and Iran attacking Israel then yes we should send in troops. The only problem is that all our soldiers are in Iraq.
So you'd be ready to go then Corrupt? Since all of our soldiers are in Iraq I imagine that based on the scenario you describe, guys like us would have to go. Are you ready to die for Israel?
"Fiddle: yeah, we should have. But I don't think it would be worthwhile getting involved now. Besides, it doesn't look as if the Israelis need much help." Hey you two, there's another war you could get involved in, that's happening right now! And they need all the help they can get.
Stay out of it, Israel knows what their doing, they have been putting up with muslims longer than us.
It is likely that NATO will play the role of peacekeepers. It is also likely that such a force will be dominated by France and Turkey.
No I'm not ready to die for Israel Tom but if a draft is called then I have no choice but to go.

America would never get involved because unlike Iraq Israel have no oil for america to steal..
