China is still a couple of decades behind in the technology of warfare. What the U.S. lacks in manpower, it more than makes up in firepower, longrange attack weapons and air superiority. This war would start and end at sea since neither country would allow the other to invade their homeland unchalleged. The U.S. would attack and destroy any Chinese warships before we ever got within their range of fire.
Before the US got bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan, I'd have said the US. But after the criminal abuse imposed on our military and its current deployment, condition, and readiness ... I honestly don't know.

The Chinese are used to atrition, Americans would surrender in a week, because it would be too much trouble, and theres football on tv.
I just cant really believe how many people are currently willing to go fight in the middle east given the fact that the war was started on so called "facts" that were false. We aren't making much of a difference over there at all. When I talk to people who say they are willing to go over there and fight for our country, I say, "I'm just waiting for the bigger war."
It depends on whose turf the war takes place. In China, the Chinese would absolutely win. In the USA it would be a toss-up.

It's not to0 hard for the most advanced air force in the world to bomb the hell out of a relatively low-tech 200 million man army.
Great ballot but id go with the u.s all the way. If the U.S invaded China without airsupport first it probably wouldnt come out good but if a war broke out the u.s would use airsupport like they do on any other countries in war. They would bomb every radar towers and military bases they could find. Then they would set troops in Japan, India and the Phillipines and from there make there way in. China outnumbers us greatly with manpower but when an abrahm tank comes rolling down the street with a fully trained troop with a bullet proofvest, m4 and back up it wont matter. Also these troops arent fed well and havent been trained profesionally and a lot dont even want to be in the army but were forced to join. It will be like Desert storm all over again. The tanks will come in and 70% of there army will surrender hoping for food and shelter. Also a war between the U.S and China is probably the last thing to worry about causes the chances of it happening are one in a million. We brought them out of isolation during world war 2 and fought Japan because of them. Also 2 trillion of debt the U.S owes goes to China and with a war they know they wont get paid. And after we will cut off any trade with them meaning they wont make 100 billion dollars a year off of us.
But if you give it a couple years things might change. The U.S pays China 100 billion a year off of Chinese made electronics sold to the U.S. Most of this money goes to the Chinese military and it is slowly building up. Give it about 20 years with the way things are going and China might just build a better army than the united states.
You people have no military knowlege. Actually abc destroying a 200 million man army wouldn't be all that difficult. China has no way to get to the US mainland so grapost it wouldn't be a tosup at all. Chinese troop transports couldn't even get past the US coast gaurd. Not to mention the largest most powerful navy. backed up by the larget most powerful airforce. Chinas regular army would be demolsihed. Then the millions of conscripts would do nothing except occupy the chinese mainland. The US objectives would be to bombard chinas cities to nothing. That is where china's economy comes from. the coastal cities. They're mainland produces nothing of economic value. They would be forced to surrender if they wanted to keep their country from being demolished. The only possible threat they pose it to use nukes. the new airborne laser and bush's missile defense program will solve that issiue in a few years. You people also forget about robotics. They are being developed now. In a few years The US could mass produce non living forces to equal china's strength. It can be done. Look at advanced robots already like the robotic mule developed by boston dynamics. Now that thing is creepy.
usrocks is right i just watched a show about them robots carrying like m60s on them. Its not pretty when ten of them are coming towards you with the accuracy they have and you have nothing to shoot at. Usrocks is correct we could produce enough to fight without using one man in china. Everyone picks china becuase they think the numbers count. What about alexander the great? What about other legends like Napolean using less then half the troops to fight and always won. Now a days technology makes up for our lack of troops. Trust me if a war broke out im sure americans would join cause this war could ruin us.
