interesting question - I find people sometimes become more "attractive" as I get to know them and become interested in their personality and the people they really are beneath their appearance. kind of odd.

I have learned not to judge on first meetings. Often I have really liked those I thought I disliked because of their looks. I knew one really ugly man but because of his tremendous personality found him to be great company and a hell of a laugh. Do you remember that television serial, 'Beauty and the Beast?' I'm sure everyone actually started to like the look of the 'Beast.'After all, it was HIM. Due to his kindness and caring ways his looks did not matter. I met a man once with a nose that bent over his face and that was a bit difficult. I could not help but stare at it while talking to him. But, that was my problem, not his.
It all depends on what the individual person thinks of as ugly. I think some people others see as ugly are quite pleasant looking, and some pople others see as beautiful I think are funny looking. Most women other people think of as gorgeous look boyish to me, and to me, that's icky. Anybody who is interesting looks good to me.
However, if a person's looks are grossly deformed, that's another issue--and usually these people are as absorbed by their deformities as people who think they are beautiful are absorbed by their own looks.
